Frequently Answered Questions FAQ's
Does the cost of the moulding depending on the actual shape itself?
No, you pay for the size of the material itself. It is no harder to make a profile with an intricate design as apposed to a profile with a plain design.
Do you have minimum runs?
We do have set up fees for short runs in MRMDF and in timber. MRMDF short runs would be anything under 30 L/M and/or under $100.00 in value; this would incur a $60.00 + GST set up fee. Solid Timber short runs would be anything under 500 L/M; this would incur a $60.00 + GST set up fee and any timber orders under 10 L/M will incur an $80.00 + GST set up fee. Accessories such as cornice moulds or picture rails will attract a higher set up fee.
What materials are available?
We can machine skirtings and architraves in almost any timber that is requested. The main source of material we use is EO Moisture Resistant Medium Density Fibreboard (MRMDF). We also machine select grade Kiln Dried Hardwood (KDHW), Clear Pine, Finger Jointed Pine, Meranti, American Oak, and any other timbers on request.
What lengths is the material available in?
MRMDF 18mm is available in lengths of 2.4m, 3.6m, and 5.4m. 12mm, 25mm and 32mm is available in lengths of 5.4m only. Solid timber is available in random lengths. We can try and match cutting lists if required, although we only do this for architrave and is dependent on quantity.
Do you deliver anywhere or can I pick up my order?
We deliver to Melbourne Metro on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We do require help on site as it is not a crane truck that is used, it is hand unloaded. We deliver around the bay and other areas of Victoria and Australia on request and the price usually depends on the size of the order and exactly where it has to go. You are more than welcome to pick up your order anytime during our office opening hours.
What is the turn around time?
MRMDF raw orders take around 7 working days to be produced, and an about 7-10 working days for primed orders. Timber orders can take from 7-12 working days depending on whether or not the material has to be specially ordered in. During busier periods such as prior to Christmas, our lead time may be extended past 10 working days for all orders.
Do you pre-prime your mouldings?
We now offer the Ultimate Primed Finish. Our entire range can be supplied pre-primed providing enormous benefits. The priming finish sees the mouldings pass through a rigorous 5 stage process. This includes pre-sanding, priming of the first coat, sanding, priming of the second coat and then a final sand is done thus completing the priming process. The Ultimate finish is 90-95% ready for immediate top coat application allowing for substantial time and cost savings.
Can you match any profile?
We have one of the largest ranges of profiles in Australia. We have over 2500 existing cutters. If your profile isn’t one of our existing profiles, we can make new cutters to match it. This can take around 2-4 weeks. The cost depends on the profile itself. For a rough estimate, it is best that the profile is seen by one of our staff members. This can be either faxed, emailed or brought into our showroom.
How can orders be paid for?
Orders can be paid either by credit card over the phone (Visa/MasterCard only), direct deposited into our account or a cheque or cash on site when your order is delivered. Credit applications are available but accounts are only open if client is giving us on going work.
What are the opening hours of your showroom?
Our showroom and office is open from Monday to Friday between 7:30am to 5:00pm and on Saturday between 9:00am to 12:00pm. We are closed on all long weekends and public holidays.
Are your prices competitive?
As we manufacture almost all of our profiles our selves, we can offer all of our products at competitive prices. We can supply a ‘best buy’ budget range of skirtings and architrave in primed MDF material in select profiles. Our premium range can be supplied in any size, any profile, and any timber either raw or primed. Dealing direct with the manufacturer allows for more cost savings.
